Elephanthide has a highly durable, smooth, lustrous surface with a distinctive veined pattern, hence the paper's name. Favoured by bookbinders and origami artists, the sheets can be sharply creased/ folded repeatedly without cracking or bunching. Elephanthide responds particularly well to wet-folding without warping or buckling.
