Colour will lighten slightly with time.
While preparing the kozo bark for sekishu paper, the middle bark layer is not removed; this makes for a stronger paper and darker color than other kizuki papers.
Sekishu paper is good for hinging, mending and backing. Tsuru is made from machine beaten kozo and dried on a dryer. MARE is made from hand beaten kozo and dried on wood boards.
