100% Japanese kozo cooked in soda ash
Made using "rokubu-heguri kozo" (60% cleaned green bark

Banshi (Hanshi) - brush writing paper.

Colour will lighten slightly with time.

While preparing the kozo bark for sekishu paper, the middle bark layer is not removed; this makes for a stronger paper and darker color than other kizuki papers.
Sekishu paper is good for hinging, mending and backing. Mare is made from hand beaten kozo and dried on wood boards.
