Bassane Leather Midnight Noir

BASANNES - Roquefort sheep are normally associated with the world famous cheese but these hardy animals also provide beautiful skins for bookbinding. A smooth leather , not as smooth as calf, but with a slight grain reminiscent of the traditional 'Basil' grain in England.
It polishes to a lovely shine.

Sheepskin is often considered to be inferior to goatskin; certainly they are more economical on price but these skins are strong and have plenty of substance making them resistant to tearing or splitting like some sheepskins.

This is a beautiful traditional leather with a totally European pedigree.
